Michigan Tech’s Career Fair brings hundreds of top companies from around the country right to you, ready to talk about internships, co-ops, and full-time jobs. Whether you’re a first-year student just checking things out or a graduating senior ready to lock in your first job, the fair is your opportunity to connect, explore, and grow.

First Timer Tours are designed for students who are new to Career Fair—especially first-year students or anyone who hasn’t experienced it before. Join a guided tour of the fair space, talk with friendly employers in a low-pressure setting, and learn how it all works. No pressure—just a great way to build confidence.

We know Career Fair can be a lot. If you’re feeling overwhelmed, step into our Quiet Space—a calm zone where you can pause, regroup, and recharge before heading back in.

Update your resume and get feedback at Career Services or during resume review events.Upload your polished resume to Handshake.Check out which companies are attending—search by major, job type, or location.Pick 3–5 top companies to research—know what they do and what they’re hiring for.Active job postings from companies attending the fair can be seen here.Plan your outfit! Stop by the Career Closet if you need professional attire.Attend Career Fest and employer info sessions to practice networking in a casual environment.Print a copy of the map for easy reference.💬 During Career Fair

Be ready with your 60-second intro:

Name, major, yearYour hands-on experience (internships, class projects, research, etc.)Something personal—clubs, passions, hobbiesGive your resume, engage in conversation, and thank the recruiter.Don’t forget to ask for their name or business card.📝 After Career Fair

Jot down notes: who you spoke with, what you talked about, and your impressions.Keep your phone and email handy—employers may follow up for interviews!Didn’t hear back? Send a thank-you email within 48 hours to show continued interest.⭐ Pro Tip:
