Known as the Dow, this building houses the Department of Biological Sciences and the Department of Civil, Environmental, and Geospatial Engineering. This green facility, built with funds from the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation, won awards for its design. The Department of Geological and Mining Engineering and Sciences is located on the north side of the building. The Dow also features the Robbins Atrium, named after Dick Robbins (1956), whose company made the tunneling machine that dug the tunnel under the English Channel.
