After School Science and Engineering Classes 2018

Grades 3-5

MONDAYS   Jan. 22 - Feb. 26

Classes meet Mondays in GLRC 104. Learn how rockets achieve lift and steer while designing and testing your very own rockets. Students will explore the physics of lift propulsion and design their own noncombustible powered rockets each week.

All classes will meet in the Great Lakes Research Center. The six sessions will run from 4 to 5:30 p.m. Jan. 22 to Feb. 28. These hands-on explorations are taught by Michigan Tech science and engineering students. A Houghton Elementary School bus will drop off students at the GLRC by 3:45 p.m. There is an additional $6 fee to ride the bus.

The cost is $75 per student in grades one through five and $90 per student for grades six through eight. Register by Monday, Jan. 15. Register online and pay by credit card here. Spaces are not reserved until payment has been received.
