The KSO is a coll ege-community ensemble composed of Michigan Tech students\, faculty and st aff\, and community musicians. The orchestra performs four to five concert s per year—including orchestral masterworks\, choral-orchestral\, music theatre\, ballet\, opera\, and pops—in the Rozsa Center for the Performi ng Arts. The KSO is led by Dr. Joel Neves.\n\n \n\nMichigan Tech Concert C hoir\n\nThis year\, led by Susie Byykkonen\, the Michigan Tech Concert Cho ir is a select ensemble of students and community singers studying and per forming choral literature ranging from Gregorian Chant to Renaissance mote ts\, masses\, and madrigals to fascinating new works by living composers.\ n\n \n\n \n\nJazz Lab Band\n\nThe Jazz Lab Band is the top jazz ensemble a t Michigan Tech led by Director of Jazz Studies\, Adam Meckler and feature s a broad repertoire of music ranging from Big Band Era to today's contemp orary big band jazz\, with a focus on modern and original composition. Jaz z Lab Band tours regionally every January\, an annual one-week Midwest Tou r. The band has toured Jamaica six times\, and has been awarded as the Out standing Large Ensemble at the Aquinas Intercollegiate Big Band Festival.
