George Orwell's classic, reimagined by Acquila Theatre, the renowned NYC broadway theatre ensemble in their 2019 national tour. Adaptation by Michael Gene Sullivan.
As our modern world grapples with the threats and benefits of technological integration, Aquila Theatre’s production of 1984 provides a space to appreciate the value of individual thought – an evocative and timely narrative of personal freedom against political repression. Today, Orwell’s prescient story resonates around the globe as individuals, systems, and governments clash.
A post-performance panel discussion with Michigan Tech faculty and guest speaker Marika Pfefferkorn will compare and contrast contemporary culture with the dystopic society portrayed in 1984: How new technologies and analytics are used to monitor and govern in society today.

We're so fortunate to have first-rate theater performances here on our shores. Thanks to the Rozsa for making this possible!
I wasn't sure what to expect going into the performance because of how the book was written, but I loved the way that they told the story. The acting was also phenomenal.
