DESCRIPTION:Ashanté Kindle and Khari Turner come to Michigan Tech to discus
s their joint exhibit\, Copper Planted Seeds\, currently on display at Finl

the history of the Keweenaw Peninsula and their life experiences as Black
American artists. Kindle and Khari create at the border of abstractionism a
nd realism\, and the theme of their exhibit is "sisu\," or human grit and d
etermination\, in the face of daunting circumstances.\n\nAll are invited. T
he artists will begin with a presentation on their life\, art and influence
s\, followed by time for audience questions.\n\nFor further information on
the presentation at Michigan Tech\, contact vpdi@mtu.edu. For the Finlandia
