Abstract:
There are several opportunities for graduate students to be involved in the commercialization of research conducted at Michigan Tech. The National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps program focuses on developing a business model through customer interviews. Mr. Van Arsdale will discuss his experiences with the ICORPS program as the entrepreneurial lead and will share some of the “so what?” questions that potential customers and investors ask of researchers.
About the presenter:
Christopher Van Arsdale received his undergraduate degree from Michigan Tech in electrical engineering. He has worked as a consultant, designing power distribution and controls systems, in both the civil and mining industries and is currently a graduate student in the Civil and Environmental Engineering department at Michigan Tech.
