Michael Erickson

Bio: Michael Erickson is a 1995 alum of the Civil and Environmental Engineering Department who did his thesis work on sediment-water exchange of nutrients with Dr. Marty Auer.  He has worked in consulting over his 20-year career and is currently a Senior Vice President with Arcadis.  He formerly served as a Business Unit Leader in Arcadis, and also as a Discipline Director of the sediments practice and is currently a key expert Arcadis’ sediments and waterfronts practice area and provides expertise across a wide range of projects around the country and internationally.  He has worked on most of the major contaminated sediment sites in the U.S. and provides specialized knowledge of fate and transport modeling, site characterization, and remedial design and engineering to these projects and numerous others.  In addition to his work on sediment and waterfront site revitalization, he also provides water quality modeling services related to Total Maximum Daily Load (TMDL) development, spill event simulation, discharge permitting and simulation of environmental effects of dredging. Michael is a licensed professional engineer and serves as Engineer of Record on many of Arcadis’ engineering and design projects.   He also serves on the Civil and Environmental Department External Professional Advisory Committee (CEEPAC). He resides near Calumet and works from his office in Hancock.
