This is a past event.
Raphael Xavier and his team of breakers and musicians will perform a wholly original improvised performance incorporating music compositions and poems submitted by Michigan Tech students. Tapping into their years of compositional talent and technique, Xavier and his collaborators invite students to consider the unlimited possibilities of artistic collaboration and explore their own creative potential. Seeing their work reimagined through Xavier and his collaborators, the evening culminates with a conversation between the students and the performers.
The Creative Jam Session will be followed by a live Q&A.
The Raphael Xavier Creative Jam Session is made possible by the New England Foundation for the Arts' National Dance Project, with lead funding from the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation and The Andrew W. Mellon Foundation.
