John Arnold, artist, architect and PhD candidate in the Industrial Heritage and Archaeology program at Michigan Tech, will teach a class at the Copper Country Community Arts Center titled "Cultivating Everyday Superpowers: Design Thinking in (At Least) Four Dimensions" next month.
Architectural design is a fun and rewarding process of solving complex, multidimensional problems. In this three-part class, students will engage in a variety of hands-on activities and experiments designed to guide the exploration of the nature of architectural place-making through the directed study of the spaces around them.
Participants will record their observations and experiences in a sketchbook, build an exploratory spatial model and develop an enhanced set of spatiotemporal superpowers applicable to a diversity of creative endeavors.
Classes will be held from 2 to 5 p.m. Saturdays, April 15, 22 and 29 at the CCCAC, located at 126 Quincy Street in Hancock.
The fee is $115 if registered and paid by Saturday, April 1 and $125 after. Deadline is Saturday, April 8.
