Mark your calendars—the 21st annual Design Expo will be held virtually on Thursday, April 15, 2021 via Gatherly.
Hosted by the Pavlis Honors College and the College of Engineering, Design Expo highlights hands-on, discovery-based learning at Michigan Tech.
More than 1000 students in Enterprise and Senior Design teams showcase their work and compete for awards. A panel of judges, made up of distinguished corporate representatives and Michigan Tech staff and faculty members, critique the virtual presentations. Many team projects are sponsored by industry, which allows students to gain valuable experience through competition at Design Expo, as well as direct exposure to real industrial problems.
What is Gatherly?
Gatherly is a platform designed for spatial video chat. The platform lets users move around and talk freely to others at the event. As soon as you move close to someone on the map, you automatically start video-chatting with them. Move into an open group, and you'll join their conversation seamlessly.
Who will use Gatherly: The Michigan Tech community, friends, family, and project sponsors are invited to tune into Gatherly for a 2-hour event where teams and audience members have the chance to engage in conversations over project work, discoveries, and everything in between.
