Tuyuryaq: A Model for Decolonizing Learning on College Campuses
Presented by Dr. Valoree Gagnon and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion
We are colonized people.  Our curriculum is colonized curriculum.  What is our role and where do we begin in understanding these aspects?  This discussion targets topics about decolonizing and combatting identity marginalization and structural inequalities in higher education. This dialogue will provide participants will access tools for curriculum development and deepen their understanding of ongoing colonial impacts in our current educational models.
Please join Dr. Valoree Gagnon from the Great Lakes Research Center and the Center for Diversity and Inclusion with an important campus discussion on how to advance awareness and support for decolonized practices in research, teaching, program support, and student involvement in campus culture at Michigan Technological University.
