Supporting Queer Student Identities Abroad.

This dialogue will discuss ways to foster inclusion for LGBTQIA* students in the stages of the international education journey beyond the application phase. Join Amy L. Howard from the Center for Diversity and Inclusion (CDI) and Patrick Mercer from the Japan Centers for Michigan Universities (JCMU) to discuss strategies for helping students understand how their gender and/or sexual identities may play into their experience abroad prior to departure, sharing relevant information about community support and resources available as they begin their experience abroad, and how to create and foster a safe space for all students to thrive internationally.
Presented by Amy L. Howard and Patrick Mercer (JCMU)
Please join us and engage in meaningful campus dialogue around topics of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
Light refreshments will be provided.
