Indian Students' Association has always strived to bring the amazing Indian culture to the community. One way to do so is the Diwali Night celebration on campus at the Rozsa Center. It is one of the biggest events at Michigan Technological University and has become a tradition! Being an international student organization, we believe that unity in diversity is the best motto and celebrating the traditional events is the way to go. Diwali, one of the biggest festivals in India, is celebrated based on a mythological event where good wins over evil. We believe that this joyous moment should be shared with every single community member in and around Houghton/Hancock.This year, we celebrate Diwali Night on Saturday (Oct. 29). We shall cater to an audience of various backgrounds and communities.A dinner of Indian cuisine will be served from 5-7 p.m. The menu includes:Jal-Jeera, Papad, Pita Bread, Gobi 65, Chicken Dry Roast, Aloo Kofta, Naadan Chicken, Dal Dhaba Style, Bagara Rice, Shahi Tukda. The dinner will be followed by the celebration performances, including Indian dances, music and a well-knit play, beginning at 7:30 p.m. in the Rozsa Center.Tickets are on sale from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. through Friday at the promotions table in the MUB.
