Come hear Dr. Chelsea Schelly present Dwelling in Resistance: Learning, Living and Writing It.
Schelly is the author of two recent monographs: Dwelling in Resistance: Living with Alternative Technologies in America (2017, Rutgers University Press), and Crafting Collectivity: American Rainbow Gatherings and Alternative Forms of Community (2016, Routledge). She earned the PhD
in Sociology at University of Wisconsin-Madison. Her
research interests include “the ways in which alternative
technological systems challenge the social, economic,
political and environmental consequences of those systems.” One of her current interests is studying residential energy practices and alternative technologies for supporting the organization of residential life, particularly energy conservation behaviors and alternative energy adoption.
