Rozsa’s Project Learning Lab “gallery b” Presents Extraxtion
The Rozsa Center and The Department of Visual And Performing Art present the final exhibit of Sculpture and 3D Design students, who will host an exhibit titled “Extraxtion,” with a public reception for their work in Rosza “gallery b,” the Rozsa’s experimental Project Learning Lab gallery space, this Thursday, April 21st, from 5:00 PM - 6:30 PM. The exhibit is free and open to the public, and will be open through Saturday, April 23. On display will be a collection of sculptures, a series of drawings, and four “traditional lathes,” designed and fabricated by students. Students will also showcase Call and Response, a collaboration between Sculpture students and Dr. Laura Fiss's Literary Survey class.
Student artists will be on hand to meet visitors and discuss their work. It is a great time to visit the Project Learning Lab, an innovative arts classroom for Michigan Tech’s students and community. In addition to the Friday opening reception, gallery b hours for Extraxtion will be Friday and Saturday 1:00 PM - 8:00 PM.
New in the 2015-2016 season, Project Learning Lab turned the Rozsa Gallery into two spaces: gallery b: An active learning classroom, a cutting-edge Visual Arts experiment that takes place within the Rozsa gallery; and a professional gallery, A-Space. Ongoing in A-Space is a professional exhibition by artist Rachel Kauff titled Tipping Points, February 20 – April 25. A-Space hours are M-F, 8:00 AM – 8:00 PM, and on Saturdays from 12:00 AM – 8:00 PM. It is free and open to the public.
