Are you a FIRST Robotics Alumni who wants to stay involved with FRC competitions? Copper Country Robotics at Michigan Tech is inviting people to volunteer with the organization at Escanaba, MI, one of the Upper Peninsula FRC events hosted yearly!

Escanaba, MI is a Saturday/Sunday event hosted from March 7th to March 9th. We will be travelling down to Escanaba on March 7th and heading back after the competition ends on March 9th. Copper Country Robotics members have previously made up a large majority of the volunteer staff in the past, serving in roles such as FTAA, Referee, Field Reset, and Queuer (among others).

To qualify to attend with the club, you must complete all of the following steps:

1. You must attend a Copper Country Robotics General Meeting (or be an already active CCR member), which can be found on our Involvement Link page. If you cannot attend any of these meetings, you must email ccr-contact@mtu.edu to schedule a meeting with one of the members from our Executive Board
2. You must complete the FIRST Consent and Release Form and a background check performed by FIRST Robotics (or their affiliates). This happens on the FIRSTInspires website when you log in.
3. If you are under the age of 18 at the time of the event, you must have your parent / guardian fill out the aforementioned forms and checks before you can volunteer
4. Finally, if you complete all of these steps, you must be officially registered as a volunteer for the event on the FIRSTInspires website. Copper Country Robotics does not handle event registration, and cannot register for you. All people travelling with CCR must be on this volunteer list in some capacity.

Anyone who does not wish to volunteer through Copper Country Robotics may do so at their own cost and discretion. However, all participants with CCR will be considered members, and subject to the Copper Country Robotics constitution, the MTU Student Code of Conduct, and the FIRST Code of Conduct at all times throughout our travel.

Depending on demand, Copper Country Robotics at Michigan Tech may prioritize active members and those who register first, as there is a logistical limit to how many people we attend. Each year, we typically volunteer at 3 FRC events, so this is not the only opportunity to volunteer with CCR.

Please reach out to ccr-contact@mtu.edu if you have any questions!
