Gods\, ghost s and legends from both German and Norse myths were heavily influential in Wagner’s series of operas which invoke grandiose and supernatural image ry. \n\n“The most famous piece in this concert is Ride of the Valkyries from Wagner's 15-hour Ring opera cycle. Think "Kill the wabbit" and the mo vie Apocalypse Now."\, says Joel Neves\, Assistant Professor of Music and Director of Orchestral Activities at Michigan Technological University. “This concert features stunning music from the fantasy operas of Richard Wagner\, which are based on Norse legends about Valhalla and the gods\, a mythological ring of power\, and a cursed ghost ship steered by the undea d.”\n\nDon’t miss these larger than life compositions. The KSO is a college-commun ity ensemble composed of Michigan Tech students\, faculty and staff\, and community musicians. The orchestra performs four to five concerts per year —including orchestral masterworks\, choral-orchestral\, music theatre\, ballet\, opera\, and pops—in the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts.
