Great Lakes Bioblitz in Your Backyard

Copper Country Events Celebrating the 50th Anniversary of Earth Day

Community members, families, and students across the Great Lakes states and Ontario are invited to participate in finding and identifying as many wild, living things as possible in a specific area (backyards and other outdoor spaces) during the next month.

Bioblitzes provide a way to record biodiversity, the variety of wild living things found in a given area. For the Great Lakes Bioblitz, Ontario, Canada, and each Great Lakes state will collectively make observations, and the observations from each region can be compared to the observations from another region.
