Since its founding by Michigan Tech in 1965, the Great Lakes Invitational Hockey Tournament has brought thousands of Michigan Tech fans together for one of the greatest traditions in college hockey. Connect with fellow Huskies at the HopCat at 300 Grove St in East Lansing, MI, on December 30, 2021 from 3- 4:45 p.m.  Easy parking is available in the adjacent Grove St Garage.  Don't miss the chance to meet Jen Lucas, the new Assistant Vice President of Alumni Engagement.

The hockey game will begin at 5 p.m. in the Munn Arena at 509 Birch Rd in East Lansing.  Tickets at Munn Ice Arena are $25 for reserved chairback seats and $20 for bench seats. Online orders can be placed at  At this time masks are required by Michigan State University.

Bonus Event:

At both GLI pregame socials, William J. Sproule's book "Michigan Tech Hockey, 100 Years of Memories" will be available for $29.95. The author will also be in attendance for a book signing.

This excellent book explores the 100 years of Michigan Tech hockey that have created many memories for teams, players, coaches, students, alumni, and the community who have followed the Huskies. Summaries of each year and information on teams, coaches, players, awards, arenas, the Great Lakes Invitational, Winter Carnival, and fans are included. Relive your passion and excitement for one of college hockey's most historic programs. The book is over 300 pages and features pictures of teams and players from across the century.

Calvin Larson, Tech's Assistant Athletic Director for Media Relations, helped with the book, and the Huskies' all-time scoring leader and All-American Mike Zuke wrote the foreword. Michigan Tech Sports Hall of Fame Inductee and hockey historian Paul Kerttu underwrote the cost of printing the book so that all purchases benefit the hockey program.
