Michigan Tech's Bridging Communities Series presents High-Impact Strategies for Difficult Dialogue with Dr. Ronald L. Jackson II. This first-come, first-served breakfast workshop is designed for those who want to learn high-impact strategies for facilitating respectful and productive conversations in various settings on campus, especially around contentious topics. This will be particularly beneficial for faculty to use in classroom settings, but is open to all employees at Michigan Tech.

Content Guidance
This workshop will include discussion of contentious topics in difficult conversational settings. The workshop content may reference abuse (physical, mental, verbal, sexual), discrimination and/or bigotry (racism, homophobia, transphobia, sexism, ableism, anti-Semitism, Islamophobia, or others), death and/or dying, mental health, police brutality, sexual assault, and white supremacy.

About the Speaker
Dr. Jackson is a distinguished Professor of Communication and Media Studies at the University of Miami and a globally recognized identity scholar. A past president of the National Communication Association, Dr. Jackson is an award-winning author with over 85 publications on masculinity, identity negotiation, race, and culture. His accolades include being inducted as an International Communication Association Fellow and a National Communication Association Distinguished Scholar. "Dr. J" has lectured internationally and authored 18 books, including works on African American communication, popular culture, and media representation. Beyond academia, he has founded three companies, including a consulting firm and an educational games company, showcasing his diverse expertise and entrepreneurial spirit.
