When Joel Fevig was born in the Philippines in 1984, he had already survived two attempts against his life. His mother tried to abort him, twice. As the child of an unwanted pregnancy, he was handed over to a Catholic orphanage in Cebu City shortly after birth. He lived there more than a year, until a Christian family in the United States found him through an Oregon adoption agency. After being raised in the US, Joel returned to the Philippines and learned the story behind his birth. He feels called to speak on his experiences and trauma surrounding abortion. It is his hope that he can use his story to testify of God’s goodness and soften people’s hearts. Today Joel is married and works as an enrollment counselor at Southeastern University.
