K-Day, short for Keweenaw Day, is an annual tradition at Michigan Tech held on the Friday of the week of Labor Day. It is a registered student organization fair with around 200 groups in attendance. Each year on K-Day, classes release at noon so our students can celebrate their beautiful surroundings in the Keweenaw Peninsula and learn about ways to get involved and connected at Tech. K-Day typically sees around 3,500-4,000 students attend, so be sure to check out this amazing event so you don't miss out!
There is plenty to do at K-Day! You'll find lots of food and snacks, music, inflatable games, and more. Best of all, more than 200 of Michigan Tech's Registered Student Organizations will have booths set up so you can learn more about them and learn how you can get involved. With well over 240 Student Organizations at Michigan Tech, there is something for everyone!
While you're welcome to drive to K-Day yourself or carpool with friends, Student Leadership & Involvement does offer large buses that will be shuttling students back and forth. Our large buses pick up from the Rozsa Center parking lot on-campus. They will drop you off at the park so you can get right to the action. Buses depart about every 30 minutes and will return to the park until all students have been picked up. For students that drive themselves, there is no parking inside the park. However, parking just outside of the park is available but limited.
