Presentation Title: The Contribution of Skeletal Muscle Afferent Feedback to Cardiorespiratory Responses during Exercise in Patients with Heart Failure.

Abstract: The premise of this presentation is to highlight research conducted while at the Mayo Clinic that lead to
my current research questions. Specifically, I will present data demonstrating the contribution of skeletal muscle afferent feedback to cardiorespiratory responses during exercise in patients with heart failure. A discussion of cardiovascular regulation during exercise and how this is altered in heart failure will kick off the presentation. I will then detail experiments that we performed to elucidate how skeletal muscle afferent feedback contributes to blood pressure regulation and ventilatory control in patients with heart failure during exercise. The presentation will close with imparting our current and proposed research
projects in the Cardiovascular Research and Rehabilitation Laboratory at the University of Minnesota.
