Join the members of the Search and Rescue Training Association and the Husky Amateur Radio Club in volunteering to help with the 2015 Lake Superior Performance Rally. This is a great way to help give back to the community; by helping with an event that brings in visitors (racers, voluteers, and spectators) from around the world. What is it?"The Lake Superior Performance Rally (LSPR) takes place during peak foliage season in Michigan’s Upper Peninsula, which means that this rally is always one of the most unforgettable and picturesque. Headquartered in Houghton, the unpredictable fall weather could mean conditions anywhere from dry and sunny to accumulating heavy snows. LSPR takes advantage of the rugged terrain of the Keweenaw and Lake Superior shoreline to live up to its reputation as the oldest, meanest, toughest rally on the circuit." - Rally AmericaThis year, the LSPR is also the National Rally America Championship Event!What help do you need?We help provide radio operators (for those with their amateur radio license) and course marshals (volunteers that help with traffic and crowd control all over the course). You also get a race t-shirt. "I'm only available Saturday, not Friday night. Can I still help?"Yes! When you check-in you can tell them how much time you are available. Maybe only Friday afternoon, maybe all of Friday evening, maybe just Saturday. Any help is appreciated. "I'm signed up. Now what?"All volunteers will get their assignments at check-in on Thursday October 16th. Check-in is at the Copper Country Mall (47420 Hwy M-26, Houghton, MI) from 5-10PM with a Volunteer Meeting at 9PM.
