Fewer people are hunting in Michigan, a trend affecting state agency budgets for environmental conservation. As the traditional father-son hunting culture ebbs, urban foodies, young women and other groups have taken up the sport.
Michigan Tech will host a live Twitter chat about the science behind these hunting trends from 2 to 3 p.m. tomorrow. Follow @mturesearch and join the conversation using the hashtag #mtulive.
Richelle Winkler (SS) and Chris Henderson, Winkler's graduate student, will lead the discussion. Henderson's master's work focuses on in-depth analysis of hunting and fishing licenses in Michigan between 2012-13 as part of Winkler's broader analysis covering decades worth of data and trends.
