DESCRIPTION:The Michigan Tech Transportation Institute (MTTI) will hold an 
 informational session on two upcoming research opportunities.\n\nThe Federa
 l Railroad Administration (FRA) has released the FY24 Broad Agency Announce
 ment for Research Initiatives in Support of Rail Safety.\n\nAt this session
 \, we will review the research topics available\, plus provide information 
 on the application process and examples of current MTTI projects funded by 
 the FRA. The research topics are available for download.\n\nA second resear
 ch opportunity is provided by MxV Rail\, a subsidiary of the Association of
  American Railroads.\n\nMxV Rail is soliciting proposals for 2024 research 
 projects to address the Grand Challenge Research Topics in railway technolo
 gy. The purpose of this request for proposals (RFP) is to solicit a variety
  of innovative applied technologies for railway research projects and provi
 de seed money to demonstrate the feasibility of the project and the effecti
 veness of the project team.\n\nProposals are due by Nov. 30 at 5 p.m. MST.\
