In the outrageously funny masterpiece The Imaginary Invalid, the hypochondriac Argan wants his daughter to marry a doctor so he can save on his medical bills. But she's in love with someone else. Soon the whole household joins in her madcap scheme to save true love and give Argan's doctors a dose of their own medicine.

Michigan Tech Theatre creates entertainment events for the Keweenaw, sharing the creative and scholarly work of students and faculty from the Department of Visual and Performing Arts.
Patricia Helsel, Director, is a Professor of Theatre and head of Theatre and Electronic Media Performance at Michigan Tech. Patricia has a Master of Fine Arts degree in Acting and Directing from Minnesota State University - Mankato, and a B.A. degree in Theatre and Music, from Elmira College. Patricia has taught Acting, Voice, Dialects, Musical Theatre, Introduction to Theatre, Public Speaking, and Oral Interpretation at Utah State University, The University of Louisiana at Monroe, Northwestern State University, and The Louisiana School for Math, Science, and the Arts. Her professional work includes directing and performance (stage, radio, T.V.). She served as the Artistic Director for the Clinton Area Showboat Theatre, Director and Youth Program Coordinator for Robidoux Resident Theatre, Guest Director for Okoboji Summer Theatre, Director for Northern Utah Theatre Society, and Director/Educator for the Unicorn Children's Theatre.
