The University of Michigan Digital Music Ensemble, a student experimental ensemble which uses electronic means to create sound art/concerts, will recreate their experience of playing in the Delaware Mine in Delaware, MI. During the masterclass in the Rozsa Center for the Performing Arts, the ensemble will create new music based on their mine experience for a performance in Ann Arbor. This means that during the performance, the ensemble will be emulating the ambiance of the mine in sight, sound, and smell.
Under the direction of Stephen Rush, professor of music, University of Michigan.
Read more about the ensemble's experience in the Keweenaw Peninsula and their program on the VPA blog.
