 t composer David Biedenbender. New Music Detroit is a collective of musici
 ans dedicated to performing groundbreaking musical works from the late-20t
 h century to the present day. NMD will be performing The 12 Color Sonnets 
 by Aliona Yurtsevich and Red Vespers by David Biedenbender.\n\nDavid Biede
 nbender (b. 1984) is a composer\, conductor\, performer\, educator\, and i
 nterdisciplinary collaborator. A dedicated teacher\, he is currently Assoc
 iate Professor and Chair of Composition in the College of Music at Michiga
 n State University. He holds degrees in composition from the University of
  Michigan and Central Michigan University\, and has also studied at the Sw
 edish Collegium for Advanced Study\, the Aspen Music Festival\, and in Mys
 ore\, India where he studied Carnatic music. For more information\, visit:

 Detroit (NMD) is a collective of musicians dedicated to performing groundb
 reaking musical works from the late-20th century to the present day. A hig
 hly flexible ensemble with a cast of core members and prominent guest arti
 sts\, NMD performs new and adventurous classical music in a wide variety o
 f settings\, for a wide variety of people.\n\nNMD strives to collaborate w
 ith the most exciting creative voices of our time and regularly gives perf
 ormances of rarely-heard works by today's major composers.\n\nThrough inno
 vative programming and risk-taking\, virtuoso performances\, NMD continues
  to explore new ways of bringing the best of new and experimental music to
  the City of Detroit.\n\nMeet the performers\, creative team\, and product

 ne day prior to the event.\n\n \n\nLibby Meyer is a composer whose work re
 flects the natural rhythms and patterns of the world around her. Her music
  includes chamber\, orchestral\, choral\, wind symphony\, film\, dance and
  theater has been commissioned and performed throughout the United States.
 \n\nLibby has served as Composer-in-Residence at Isle Royale National Park
  and the Visby International Center for Composers (Sweden). She has receiv
 ed awards from the National Endowment for the Arts\, The Jackson Center fo
 r Teaching and Learning\, The Michigan Tech Research Excellence Fund\, The
  Michigan Council for Arts and Cultural Affairs\, The Sorel Foundation and
  The American Composers Forum.\n\n About the Presenter\n\n \n\nThe Michiga
 n Tech Music Series unites students\, faculty\, and community members for 
 a vibrant season of live music in the Keweenaw. Enjoy the commanding Kewee
 naw Symphony and experience Michigan Tech Jazz as it transforms the Rozsa 
 and McArdle Theatre into Orchestra\, stirring Michigan Tech Choirs\, and i
 nventive New Music events. Feel the dynamic energy of the Superior Wind Sy
 mphony\, Campus Concert Band\, and iconic Huskies Pep Band\, intimate jazz
  clubs.\n\nPart of the annual Rozsa Season\, the Michigan Tech Art\, Music
 \, and Theatre Series are presented by the Visual and Performing Arts Depa
 rtment. Through these series\, students from across campus\, community mem
 bers\, and faculty create art that connects us to the world. With majors i
 n audio production and technology\, sound design\, theatre and entertainme
 nt technology\, and nine minors\, the department fosters creativity\, self
 -motivation\, and the development of practical and artistic skills. Everyo
