Abstract
The MEEM department offers Master of Science and PhD degrees in Mechanical Engineering and Engineering Mechanics. This talk with focus on the policies and procedures of the MEEM graduate program including the courses, credits, requirements, and steps for each degree. Further, the procedures and forms to handle issues such as course restrictions, prerequisites, reduced course load ,and CPT/OPT will be covered. Lastly, the important issues of good standing, probation and academic integrity will be discussing. This will be an open time for all on-campus graduate students to ask questions and get to know the MEEM Director of Graduate Studies.
Bio
Wayne Weaver received a BS in Electrical Engineering and a BS in Mechanical Engineering from GMI Engineering and Management Institute (now Kettering University) in 1997. He received his MS and PhD in Electrical Engineering from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign in 2004 and 2007, respectively. He was a research engineer for Caterpillar Inc., Peoria, Illinois, from 1997 to 2003 and has also held positions with the Army Corp of Engineers, Engineering Research Labs in Champaign Illinois.
He is currently a Professor, Associate Department Chair, and Director of Graduate Studies in the Mechanical Engineering–Engineering Mechanics department at Michigan Technological University.
