Dr. Orhan Soykan, Professor of Practice in the Department of Biomedical Engineering has more than 25 years of experience, with 37 patents and 66 patents pending. He will share his early experience and introduction to the world of patents, how his focus on inventions shaped his career over decades in medical device industry, and his recommendations for the others who are interested in advancing their engineering careers. Dr. Soykan is a Michigan Tech alum, he earned his MS in Electrical Engineering at Michigan Tech in 1985.
Joining Dean Callahan as co-host for the session is Timothy Kolesar, MD '19, a biomedical engineering alum at Michigan Tech. Dr. Kolesar is a Development Quality Engineer at global healthcare leader, Abbott.
