Recognizing and Addressing Sexism: a workshop for students
As part of the State of Michigan’s Campus Sexual Assault Grant Program, there will be a student workshop offered on Wednesday, April 25th, from 4-5pm in ROTC 101.
Recognizing and Addressing the Roots of Sexism
Sexist beliefs and attitudes make up the foundation that could lead to sexual violence. Including topics such as intersectionality and toxic masculinity, this workshop provides students an awareness of these roots of sexism, but additionally, how to call it out.
The topic of addressing sexism was identified from the results of the 2017 Title IX Sexual and Relationship Misconduct Survey. The grant is a collaboration between Michigan Tech, Northern Michigan University, and the Michigan Coalition to End Sexual and Domestic Violence. The other workshop topic is Male Survivors of Sexual Misconduct. Workshops on both topics will continue in the fall.
