This is a past event.

We’re excited to announce that Michigan Tech's annual Research Day will return to an in-person format for 2023 in the MUB. Our theme this year is Research Networking. This day-long event is designed for all Michigan Tech researchers, including academic faculty from all career stages and disciplines, as well as other research-active individuals (e.g., research faculty, research development staff, research scientists & engineers, post-docs, among others). All content is new for 2023; thus, returning participants are encouraged to attend.

Please use this form to RSVP as soon as possible so that we can get an accurate head count for lunch, snacks, and room arrangements.

Registration with coffee, snacks, and informal networking will begin at 8:30 am. Morning sessions will run from 9:00-11:45 am, with lunch and recognitions at noon. Afternoon sessions will begin at 1:00 pm and the day will conclude with a networking reception from 3:30-4:30 pm.

The day’s agenda will include:

  • Time for introductions and networking
  • Interactive panel discussions featuring stories of successful interdisciplinary networking and collaboration successes
  • Discussion of successful research networking strategies
  • A networking lunch
  • Interaction and networking with Centers & Institutes
  • Recognitions of research successes in 2022
  • Breakout sessions on topics such as: Collaboration via Overleaf (LaTeX), Government Relations: Networking on the Hill, Strategies for Success in Undergraduate Research Initiatives, Research Administration Strategies for Success, Broadening Your Funding Prospects Through Corporate & Foundation Relationships, and related topics.

If your schedule does not allow you to attend the full day, please consider joining us for the networking reception at the end of the day, which will be held from 3:30-4:30 pm in MUB Ballroom B. No RSVP is required for the reception; please join us as we network with colleagues, reflect on the day, and informally celebrate the research and scholarly accomplishments of colleagues over the past year.
