The Ecosystem Science Center welcomes Dr. Ashley Shade, Director of Research, Institute of Ecology and the Environment, French National Centre for Scientific Research, to present the first seminar in the 2023 Distinguished Ecology Lecture Series. Dr. Shade will join us virtually via Zoom for a seminar titled, "Understanding Ecological Resilience in Soil Microbial Communities" on 14 September at 3PM, in conjunction with the Biological Sciences Seminar Series.
Dr. Shade's research aims to understand how to predict and manage environmental microbial communities to achieve resilience to climate change, through the use of ‘omics tools with both field and laboratory studies. Her work focuses on disturbed environments and agricultural soil and plant-microbiomes, as well as laboratory-scale “synthetic” microbial communities.
