The Ecosystem Science Center and the Department of Biological Sciences welcome invited guest Dr. Marc Cadotte, Professor at the University of Toronto-Scarborough, as part of the Distinguished Ecologist Lecture Series. Dr. Cadotte will present a talk entitled "The Importance of Biodiversity in a Human World."

 

Bio: Prof. Cadotte is a Professor of Ecology in the Department of Biological Sciences at the University of Toronto Scarborough. He is the Editor-in-Chief of Ecological Solutions and Evidence, and the Chair of Applied Ecology Resources. He has authored more than 150 articles and the book Phylogenies in Ecology, published by Princeton University Press. He researches the links between biodiversity and ecosystem
function, how to predict and control invasive species, and how environmental changes influence the delivery of ecosystem services.
