Earth science is generating more data than ever—but turning that data into discovery is a challenge. This seminar explores how new AI tools are being designed to make sense of complex, diverse geoscience data. Learn how machine learning is being applied to detect potential biosignatures using advanced chemical analysis techniques, and how data-driven methods can predict previously unknown mineral deposits on Earth—and even Mars. You’ll also get a glimpse of new open-source tools that help uncover patterns in the atomic structures of minerals.

Anirudh Prabhu is a Research Scientist at the Carnegie Institution for Science who applies data science and machine learning to study Earth and planetary systems. He holds a PhD from RPI and serves as Editor-in-Chief of the Geoscience Data Journal.
