The SAF Forestry Club will be hosting it's first open wood splitting and tree felling of the 2025-2026 school year! This event, held the day after K-day, is the first opportunity for new and interested students to come visit the club's woodcut site just beyond the MTU Tech Trails. This event will serve to teach students basic skills in wood splitting and tree felling safety procedures, in addition to explaining more about the club's equipment and goals. Wood splitting is one of the club's two main fundraising sources, so our fall semester is packed with wood chopping days. We look forward to seeing you!

for those interested in attending, we will meet as a group in the atrium of the UJ Noblet Building on campus at 12pm, to avoid overlapping with the KISMA & Wetlands Club Walk that ends at noon. We will then carpool as a club to the woodcut site, which is only a few minute's drive from main campus. Please feel free to come and go as you wish, as attendance for the full time is never required for wood splitting events.

***NOTE: The parking lot marked on the map is to the Tolkien Trail System. The Woodcut Site is beyond this parking area around the bend in pilgrim Rd.. The entrance is just past the white house on the left.
