Materials United is Michigan Tech's joint chapter of the American Foundry Society and Materials Advantage. As a professional society, Materials United was established to promote among its members a self-sought increasing knowledge of metallurgy, materials science, engineering, and related fields. Materials United works to provide opportunities for professional development to members. MU sponsors industry days, foundry and plant tours, and travel to conferences such as MS&T (Materials Science & Technology). MU also hosts a pre-career fair Meet and Greet to connect students and companies with an interest in materials related fields.
