As a student chapter of the American Railway Engineering and Maintenance of Way Association (AREMA), REAC provides its members with a means of exploring the railroad industry through field trips, conferences, scholarships, and networking opportunities with corporations for future careers. We are open to students from all majors and backgrounds. Even if you are not interested in trains, students are encouraged to check us out. Our most frequent event is our monthly meetings where we feature a guest speaker from industry. During our meetings and field trips, REAC covers all topics; the trains, the tracks and bridges, the signals and computer systems, the operations, the business, and even museums and preservation efforts. The railroad industry provides a unique career path for all majors, and believe it or not, most people working in the industry today never saw themselves working there when they started college. Send us an email or stop by Dillman 316 and ask to be added to the email list to stay up to date with REAC activities and events.
